Description
The MicroFracture overdrive pedal is our highly modified take on the classic Marshall Bluesbreaker* overdrive, but in a much smaller footprint and with some added tone-shaping options. It features a selector switch that offers the choice between hard diode clipping (heavier drive with more compression) or soft diode clipping (more moderate overdrive just like the original circuit). This capability allows for a wide array of drive tones, ranging from uncompressed, dynamic soft overdrive through a heavier drive tone reminiscent of 80s hard-rock distortion with added sustain and compression.
Additionally, we made further tweaks throughout the circuit to increase both bass response and overall gain available versus the original circuit.
As with all micro-sized Function f(x) pedals, the MicroFracture sports a mechanical true bypass switch.

Need More Gain / Tone / Options?
If you’re looking for a Bluesbreaker-like circuit but with more complexity and options, check out our Compound Fracture (which is two MicroFractures in one box with an order switch and three selectable bypass modes). Alternatively, you could have a gander at our MacGuffin, which is a MicroFracture and MiniTaur in one box, with the same order switcher and bypassing setup as the Compound Fracture.
