The tremolo can be transparently subtle or very deep, and allows for triangle and square waveshapes that can be blended together for a full spectrum of sound shaping. The phaser front-end can be toggled on\/off via a dedicated footswitch and is capable of very slow and subtle filter effects up through watery phase-shifting madness. Think of it as a flexible tremolo with a phaser riding shotgun.<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-637 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/function-fx.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Parallax-featured.jpg?resize=400%2C400&#038;ssl=1\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/function-fx.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Parallax-featured.jpg 400w, https:\/\/function-fx.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Parallax-featured-250x250.jpg 250w, https:\/\/function-fx.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Parallax-featured-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/function-fx.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Parallax-featured-300x300.jpg 300w\" alt=\"Parallax - Tremolo + Phaser\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Both tremolo and phaser have independent low-frequency oscillators with dedicated controls, allowing for a dizzying array of overlapping modulation tones.\u00a0 We recommend trying a medium tremolo speed combined with a slow phaser speed; when the waveform peaks align, the result is really out of this world (in our opinion).<\/p>\n<h4>For the Circuit Nerds<\/h4>\n<p>We believe the overall circuit to be novel, although it is possible that somebody somewhere has made something substantially similar. We doubt it, but you never know.\u00a0 However, credit is due to the old Maestro Phase Shifter, which we updated with modern components and modified for inclusion in this pedal. Our take on this classic has 5 phase stages: 4 are \u201cswept\u201d OTA stages with an additional \u201cfixed\u201d op-amp-based phase stage. <a href=\"https:\/\/function-fx.com\/site\/phaser-pedal-types\/\">Click here to read more about the different types of phaser.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The tremolo anchor circuit is a very clean and straightforward implementation drawing from a variety of historical optical tremolo circuits and then uniquely adapted to play well with a phaser.
